What are the Auto Updates For WordPress Components options?

The "Automatic Updates For WordPress Components" feature helps you to control how automatic updates for each WordPress component is handled.

The options available within this feature are as follows:

Option: Disable All

When selected, regardless of any other settings, all WordPress automatic updates on the site will be completely disabled.

Option: WordPress Core Updates

This option helps you to decide how the WordPress Core will automatically update, if at all.

By default, WordPress only applies updates for minor versions. With this option you can choose to never update the WordPress core automatically, or to apply major release updates as well as minor.

Note: Before you choose one of the options from the list, read here how the Automatic Updates of the WordPress Core works.

Option: Plugins

This option helps you to automatically update plugins.

Note: Automatic updates for plugins are disabled on WordPress by default. When this option is selected, WordPress will automatically update any plugins that it can. You need to use this option with care, as most plugin updates should really be verified before being applied.

Option: Themes

This option helps you to automatically update themes.

Note: Automatic updates for themes are disabled on WordPress by default. When this option is selected, WordPress will automatically update themes that it can. You need to use this option with care, as most theme updates should really be verified before being applied.

Note: Automatic updates for translations are enabled on WordPress by default.
